Looks like Synta is discounting many mount models. The Orion Atlas is $150 off, Celestron CGEM is down to just $1299, etc. The CGE Pro is $1000 off at $3999.

Looks like they need to move some mounts.

Tell me more.

If I had a roll-off, the $4k CGE Pro would be somewhat tempting.

I just noticed Orion Sirius $150 off. I thought it was an early holiday thing.

I wouldn't think the Atlas and Sirius are going away.

Yeah just seems like a Holiday thing, I don't get why people are making a big deal out of it.

Hell, I got my CGEM1100HD for less last March.

Well, they discounted NexStars at Costco a couple years and killed off Meade. I suspect they smell blood in the water.

Wishful thinking? Idle speculation? The president of Orion said in a recent e-gram that they would be releasing a bunch of stuff after New Years...and the "HDX 110" reference that keeps creeping up in different places has me wondering. It would pretty much follow the roll out pattern seen recently with the Atlas AZ EQ-G :thinking:

110lbs = 50kg
Sounds like it's just a SkyWatcher EQ8 rebranded for Orion.

"Releasing" as in "selling," since Orion doesn't make anything. ;)

not quite true. They do make marketing material, and stickers, so they can re-sticker stuff and sell it as their own brand.

if you track the atlas sales you will see that every 3-4 months they have this discount going on
