Great write-up Ralph. I felt like I was there with you! I kept expecting you to say someone showed up and shined headlights at you or something like that but you had the perfect night!

That was a great report. As John said, "a perfect night". Thanks for sharing your wonderful experience.

I am glad you made all four! I saw three last Monday morning. I am afraid LINEAR was behind a hill and didn't make it above until twilight has started. I came away from it feeling just awesome. It is such a fulfilling thing, to see those comets and to have a great night outside under the stars.

I did feel that Lovejoy was very blue-green in color in my 4" refractor. GW

I saw this post and thought I would share my images, as the story is so much like mine there is no point repeating it :)
All 4 comet images captured November 14th, 2013 between 4:00am and 6:30am from Wellington, Ontario on the shore of Lake Ontario.

Hi Ralph.

If that doesn't enthuse the reader to get out there, I don't know what would. (Great planning).

Glad you had a special night and shared it with us all. With the weather I've had, Lovejoy is the only one I've seen in my light polluted skies but even that was worth staying up all night for.

Clear Skies, Tony.

Great to see your pics! I never made out LINEAR. But, I did see the other three in one morning. I'm not not sure if I've seen three in one sitting before or not, but if I have then they were not nearly of this quality. GW
