Hi All,

It is not clear how Comet C/2012 S1 (ISON) will perform but for those of you who maybe interested I have updated my Comet Drawings and Observations page including the Comet Nomenclature. This will help observers identify some of the features that may be visible with ISON as well as in future comets.

In addition there are links to other comet observing reports and sketches that I have been made over the years:

Eric,

Thank you, this is a very fine link.

I got a chance Saturday night to observe comet Lovejoy- it's a beauty. I have not yet looked for ISON.

Frank :)

Eric that's a fine collection of work and well presented. My favorite cometary feature seen to date are the onion rings or hoods being thrown off by Hale-Bopp - saw it clearly in my 70mm. The comets of late are a little uninspiring to me - partly because my local sky's are so bright. We need another Hale-Bopp or Hyakutake. Oy.

Fine renderings Eric.

Thanks for the kind words Frank. I have not had much luck for observing lately due to my work schedule and the weather. I hope to try and observe comets C/2012 S1 (ISON) and Lovejoy in the near future.

Best,

Eric
