I don't think that anyone has posted that OPT is selling Nagler T6 eyepieces for $244 a pop and free shipping UPS Ground.

I was shocked and put in an order for a 7mm T6 thinking it might be a mistake or why wait till stock is depleted.

How'd they do that?

Yahoo! The sale I've been waiting for!

:yay:

I wonder if this is unique to OPT, or if all Televue dealers will be offering it?

I had been thinking about picking up a Powermate for the short FLs, but at this price....

More seriously, thank you very much for pointing this out!

This completes the lower end of my line. Now, one more at the high end, but that is for another post.

It is likely to be unique to them.
If they sold them all the time at that price, they'd go under.
I suspect it was a stock-balancing blow out to make people post about it.
Worked, didn't it?

It does seem to be stock balancing - in the time it took me to check with my local vendor if they would also be offering those prices, the eyepiece I was interested in (also the 3.5 T6) was off the sale, as Matt had noted.

Loyalty doesn't always pay, at least not in the short run.

Interesting that there was such a run on the 3.5.
Maybe because the other focal lengths are now covered by Ethos?

I have the 3.5 Delos, but was interested in picking up a 3.5 T6 for cheap for comparison purposes.

My 3.5 will be used with my ES127 at 272X for high magnification double star work.

I find that on axis, a multiple lens eyepiece is "essentially" no different than a simple lens eyepiece. (The minor, but real differences, don't matter to me. For others, it is a big deal. YM will always V.)

Strangely enough, I also find a super-wide eyepiece desirable at high powers; I can slew to an object, and if my alignment is good on my pedestrian C5-GT, my object has a great chance to be within the eyepiece FOV. Jupiter's and Saturn's moons are also more accessible.

I wanted some high power at about 3.5 mm, and thought I would go with any of the Delos 3.5, XW 3.5 or Nagler 3.5 eyepieces if and when they appeared significantly below $300. Voila!

I really was not into double stars until I got my ES127; I find it a great performer for the money, and am working on the Cambridge Double Star Atlas List. Fun!

Too true.

Some seem to feel that the higher the power, the narrower the field of view and the shorter the eye relief . . . and, of course, the less glass.

But, I still like the context a wide-field of view provides.

There is no 2.5 Ethos. But there is a 3.7 Ethos, which I already have. However, there is a 2.5 T6. The 2.5 T6 was the only one I was interested in buying.
