Scope works perfectly in Al/az position. However, in eq mode it is about 180 degrees crazy! Instead of slewing to Vega in the SW sky it goes to the NE sky. Here's what I have done:
Polar selected in Autostar HBX
Scope aligned to Home position - I think - by CCW turn to hard stop and then CW til "logo" is over the control panel.
"Easy" alignment on first star - VEGA - sends it off to the NE sky

Help!

The polar home position is different than the altaz home position. The telescope should be pointing at the celestial pole (90 deg dec) with the fork level and the eyepiece pointing up. If you don't have a manual you can download a pdf copy from Meade's web site.

Is the control panel pointing to the west? If it pointing to the east it will be 180 off.
