Hi Folks,

I haven't been participating here much lately due to work obligations but I've ben waiting for Comet ISON to blow and it finally did. Report and sketch are here in the Solar System Observing forum.

Final sketch was done with a 2B pencil and stump and is based on a quick field sketch and notes.

Regards to all,

Thanks, Andre. I hope that ISON lives up to at least part of the hype surrounding it. You never know with comets.

Hi Michael,

Very nice work with your write up and sketch.
I have stayed up to see Lovejoy which is a fine comet but no luck with ISON so low in the Southeast.
Skies to my east tend to be cloudy this time of year because of Lake Michigan.
I'm happy you got a break to get out and observe.

Frank :)

LOL! I've got a few good years left. At any rate, congrats on achieving retirement age. Does that mean you will be giving us more sketches to enjoy?

I hope! But I am going to finish this school year out so I'll still be a part time amateur until next June. :)
