Andre, I always love the view of the sun and the Earth in the same FOV. How do you observe that, where are you observing from? ( kidding...)

Yes, the sun appears to be very busy lately. (It's busy here too, generating clouds and adverse weather. <sigh>)

Always great sketches and observations, Andre. Always. By the way, Chopin has a sketch of the same sun spots at nearly the same time.

The combination of spots, the bright molting, and the flares you render really bring out the energy in the sun.

Excellent. I was hoping you would have an observation from today. It's great to confirm my white light against your H-alpha. I assume your observations are done through a mirror diagonal, since it appears your image is mirrored from mine.

At any rate, fantastic drawing you have here. After spending the time to just capture spots, I can now really appreciate your work capturing the proms!

Thank you Jason for your very appreciated comment on both sketches.

The sun is very interesting since a couple of weeks. Lot to see and sketch.

Andre.

Andre, it passed well enough south of us, thankfully. We barely got light wind and a few drizzles. The real impact was not so good in the Visayas.

Thank you for asking and your concern, Andre. It's a tragedy on many levels, and to good people who look after their elderly parents and share the food on their table.

Amazing André! Those proms must have been hard to sketch, but again you were up to the task!

Jean
