Dare we start a thread ??
Maybe we can encourage the leaders of these great events to announce a date...

They will probably want to wait until after the holidays.... but it never hurts to try.

Have the dates been set yet? I missed the first two, but I'm determined to make it in 2014.

Gentleman, it was fantastic having you! Master Alan Traino is waiting on the Tucson Convention Center to confirm ASAE 2014's dates and will post them soon. SWAP will again fall in line with the Thursday and Friday preceding the ASAE weekend, though we will talk about the possibility of extending SWAP to include Wednesday.

There are other venues here in town with lots of stuff around them (hotels, restaurants, easy to navigate streets). That's a pretty quiet part of the year since the gem show in February is the giant annual event, so things should be available.

Ok- we need dates!

Is the order (1) set up ASAE, then (2) SWAP gets scheduled based on that?

Is there a call for presentations for SWAP/ ASAE? Tucson is, of course, a major research site with the University of Arizona, Planetary Science Institute, and multiple observatories around. With a bit of notice, we could have quite a speaking schedule.

Ditto that. If I'm going to make this year's show, I'd like to start planning, booking a flight and lodging, and saving now.

Still plenty of time, but Alan usually has dates by now. Hope there is no hang up.

Dear folks,
Last year we had a successful inaugural conference in association with ASAE in Tucson http://www.scienceandastronomy.com.

While the bulk of SWAP is dedicated to astro-imaging, I have exciting news for terrestrial shutterbugs as well! This year's seminar will include a class by world-renowned imager Rogelio Bernal Andreo. In addition to his award winning astrophotography (20+ NASA Astronomy Picture of the Day- APOD]), 'RBA' is a master at producing gorgeous landscapes incorporating astronomical themes http://www.deepskyco.../landscape.html.

Whether you have a growing interest in astro-imaging, or are just moved by the work of Rogelio Bernal Andreo; or Wally Pacholka http://www.astropics.com and other TWAN photographers http://www.twanight.org please consider telling your members about SWAP.

SWAP will be held October 29-31, 2014 in Tucson, location to be announced. Registration will be available via http://www.scienceandastronomy.com with more information available soon.

I'd like to keep you abreast of this exciting opportunity and to have CN members pencil us in their calendars. Thanks for your time!
