Magnificent Jupiter from INT, La Palma...

Pleased find a drawing of Jupiter I made on the grounds of the Issac Newton Telescope on 22nd November 2013. Although I made the colour drawing once I got home, it has taken me some time to make an electronic copy.
Anyhow, after observing ISON, the air was incredibly still and transparent. The view of Jupiter was truly stunning- indeed I would go as far to say that I have never seen so much detail on the disk. Even people who had a casual look commented on the detail in the SEB which presented a great deal of structure and subtle pastel colours.
Also on the disk was the shadow of Europa. The initial drawing was made using a star diagonal, this has been corrected for in the attached drawing.
I honestly think this was one of the most stunning views I've ever had of Jupiter!!!

Man, you captured the subtleties in the NEB pretty well. I can see them, but they are difficult to nail down. I love your rendition of that bright cloud feature in the north bordered by darker clouds. I see you're having trouble resolving the STempB, too. They are a bunch of small dots, but it need aperture apparently. About all I can get is a faint line with maybe some localized darkening as you show. Nice catch on some of the complex happenings int eh EZ, too.
Well done, sir.

Norme it looks like he's getting some of that Morse code effect in that spotty strip of thin belt we discussed. And here I am mired in Pickering 4 or clouds !!!!

Well done! Beautiful, subtle color and very 3D in appearance. That must be the turbulence following the GRS to the preceding side of the CM since the GRS is at ~202° (Sys II). The NEB appears very narrow.
I'm still waiting for an opportunity to see Jupiter with a telescope. Thanks for such a nice view for us shut ins.

Beautiful sketch with fine details in all areas on Jupiter. I especially like the scalloped turbulence in the SEB.
