November was very cloudy in Belgium, but the first half of December was mostly sunny/starry. The first sketch is Lunar 100 object number 29: Rima Ariadaeus. It looked really like a river in my little refractor, ending in the sea (with Manners and Arago as two islands).

The second sketch is a nice region on the Moon. The sun was a little bit to high to have a spectacular show. But to see the dark spots (of volcanic origin) in Alphonsus (the central crater) the sun was just right (Lunar 100 number 47). Ptolemaeus (up), Arzachel (down) and small Alpetragius (left).

The last is an unfinished one (clouds...). The craters at the limb were a beautiful sight, but not really of a(geological) interest. None of them is mentioned in The Modern Moon (Charles A. Wood).

Jef! I really like these drawings! You have chosen an exciting targets.
Rima Ariadaeus .. It's an old drawing: Rima Ariadaeus

It is interesting to see how different the two drawings. I confess that I prefer drawing Jef. :)

Jef, wonderful work. Again, I have to say this every time, you guys that can sketch the moon are impressive. I tried it and know how difficult it can be. I just could not get the hang of it and have a habit of trying to sketch every detail. It quickly becomes overwhelming. More importantly, they just do not look right. So, when you lunar artists can over come the challenges and make them look right, it shows skill. The other night I was tempted to try one, again, but just could not put pencil to paper. You did and the results are very nice, Jef.

Thanks all for the nice comments. I'll need it, because weatherforcast for the two weeks holiday doesn't look very good :(

Very good sketches of ... Hove

As far as I know there's no feature on the Moon named after my hometown
