I'm thinking about purchasing the software program Backyard EOS/NIK. I was wondering if any members are using this software and whether or not it will work with windows 8. The website recommends windows 7 xp or vista but my new laptop has windows 8.

BacykardEOS runs on W8. I'll update the website. In fact my development environment is all W8.

BackyardNIKON is not released yet, a beta release is very close; 4 to 8 weeks away is my best guess right now.

Hope this helps,

Guylain

Don't get too comfy with W8 Guylain, W9 will be here next year. :foreheadslap:

Thanks for the feedback. You are correct, I had no problems downloading and running Backyard EOS on windows 8. Also had no issues loading the PHD guiding program that comes with the Orion Starshoot Autoguider. I had heard other folks had issues with the PHD program. They must have refined the software!

I don't want to violate the TOS by pushing products here so I have started a "BackyardNIKON, Ask me anything" thread in the vendor forum.

Thank you

Guylain
