Hi all,

So, now I have some work to do. The AP1100 mount and all 10 boxes arrived safe and sound to my house today. The nice thing is that no box weighs more than 30 pounds so everything is quite manageable. Here is a link to what I've done so far. More pictures to follow.

I think I heard the C14 sigh a sign of relief.

I was thinking the same thing. I only got seven. Did you pick up a pier as well? A couple of those boxes look fairly tall.

With your post and pictures, and comments elsewhere you almost have me convinced to get the AP1100 instead of the Mach1GTO.

The AP1100 is still portable due to the way it breaks down, right?

CAREFUL! I was going to get a Mach 1 . . . decided on an 1100 . . . upgraded to a 1600 at the last notice before my 1100 was to ship. I swear, had they not had a 1600 and shipped it immediately, I would have ended up with a 3600! :foreheadslap: :foreheadslap:

Paul,
Congrats and welcome to the club! The build quality on the mount, as you have probably seen, is amazing. It will simply laugh at your C14 as it throws it around effortlessly.
Enjoy!

Sorry guys..I'm finding that putting the mount together is easier than writing HTML code...**sigh**. Better link...

http://www.sunspot51.com/Mount.htm

The mount was drop shipped from Astro Physics...the 10 boxes surprised me, but since they were all light I'm happy. I got the 8x42 AP portable pier. The current link shows a picture of it next to my EM200 mount.

Sorta concerned though...no radical weather is predicted... ;)

Ed, I'll let you know when it's all up and working and you can come over anytime you want.

Hopefully you won't require the use of APCC.. If so, weather won't be your problem...

I've updated my web link as I got the mount about 80% setup. Tomorrow I'm planning (with my brother-in-law's help) to get the C14 on board.

Man I don't know how you can take DAYS to put this together. I wouldn't have been able to sleep until the whole thing was up and running and slewing around the sky! ;)

You ain't kidding. After looking at those pics, I was excited and had trouble falling asleep. And I don't own it.

So the AP1100 is where I decided to go as well. Payload to be either a C11HD or C14HD. Possible future imaging, possible. Need to have some portability for up to three years, then a permanent location. I decided on the AP1100 rather than the 1600. For those with a similar setup with the C14, I would be interested in your insights.
