Hello, my name is Michael. I am looking to meet some new people that are interested in astronomy or astrophotography in my area.

Yes, there are a couple of clubs near you-- the largest is the one at Bays Mountain in Kingsport-- it meets on the 1st Friday of each month at 7:00 PM. There is also a smaller club in Bristol that meets at King College-- 2nd Friday of the month at 7:00 PM (I'm actually the current president)-- there is some overlap between the two clubs since they are not that far apart, including people from where you live. A third choice is East Tennessee State, but that tends to be a student club and has an ebb and flow to it as students come and go.

Send me a PM if you would like some more info.

Hi Michael, I'm also in the upper east TN area and have been wondering the same thing. I was aware of the club at Bays Mountain but did not know about the one in Bristol.

Call me a wimp but it's been waaaay too cold for me to get out and do any observing this winter.

Tom, PM sent for info!
