The Olympic Astronomical Society of Bremerton WA will be hosting our 11th annual Camp Delany star party at Sunlakes State park near Ephrata Washington 24 to 27 April. The cost is $55 for all nights and includes a bunkhouse with heat, hot showers, all meals and dark skies. RV space is limited and is dry camping so sign up early to ensure a space. I have attached the sign up sheet and all the rules. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. I hope to see you there.

Bummer.

My wife and I were looking at my son's plans at the end of April to see if he could go with me.

I guess that we took too long to decide...

We're pretty much tethered to the motorhome.

Still, I had a great time last year. I'll think about making it a visual outing. It will also depend on how our schedule shakes out for late April. That's the reason that I didn't register on the day you announced it.

We still have bunkhouse space available but today is the last day for sign up to avoid a late fee of $50. we have 44 folks signed up so should be a good time. I will be holding a mirror cleaning workshop as well.

Thanks to everyone who joined us at Camp Delany last week, the weather did not allow for much observing but it was great company in a great place. Thanks for pitching in and making our 11th annual Spring event so good. Our 25th annual Fall Camp Delany is coming up 24 to 28 September and I will put a post with sign up sheet out in July.

Yes, our 2015 Spring Camp Delany will be a 4 day event from 15 to 19 April.  The sign up sheet will be on the OAS website later this month.  However, all our RV spots are filled up.  There is plenty of bunk house space available and would love to have you there.

How do I get on that VIP list for RV's?  All RV spots filled and registration not open yet?  Certainly an inside job!!!!!!!!      :)     :D

Yes, greatly enjoyed the fall event and excited to get together again!!!!

Not quite an inside job, we open registration for members a month before we open it up to the general community and more and more of our members are bringing their RVs, sorry!

Cliff- How practical of an idea is it for folks with rv's to set up camp over in the state park rv park and "commute" to Camp Delany? I do see potential issues with vehicle lights and dust which could put the kibosh on it but maybe something could be figured out.

No point in me going the bunkhouse route. I'd be voted out the first night.

Actually the bunkhouse worked perfect for me, no temptation to haul a lot of equipment and an RV.  Just my little Honda and a 5" refractor and a lot of fun!!!

Keith, I have talked with the OAS board about this over the years and there are over powering rejections to the idea but I will pursue again!  I may be the president but I do not get to make theses decisions, not part of my executive powers

Hi Cliff, i haven't been to a camp Delany star party before, is setting up a tent somewhere an option there? Bunks are fine, but I snore and I don't feel like getting hit with bars of soap in the middle of the night
