I finally ventured outside the warmth and safety of my house to get a clear shot of the sun today! Temps were about 11 F with wind chills well below 0 but I was able to at least get enough video to do the surface and proms! My fingers were just about frozen by the time I got back in even though I was wearing gloves other than to focus! Sheesh I'll be glad when we get back to warm temperatures...like the teens!!

Wow, that's a beauty! Great detail and contrast. Well worth your effort (as long as you dont get frostbite). Time for some handwarmers?

I'm outside right now trying to shoot that tall prom on the lower right. In my shorts and sandals. Sorry.

Wow, that's beautiful, Warren! :applause: It really looks 3-D. Did you use double-stacked etalons?

Thanks Scott! I image with a single stack tilt tune. I find that inverting the disk and leaving the proms as is gives a nice 3D look, particularly to filaments.

Wow x 2, then! That is without a doubt that the best single stack full disc image that I have ever seen (and with a mere 60mm of aperture to boot). :like:
