Does anyone know if Celestron has ever placed the AVX telescope setups on sale? If so what time of year? I think they have a summer imaging sale in July but that is only for the larger mounts. In the winter around November they have they Nexstar SEs and CPCs on sale.

Perhaps for the NEAF show mid April.

Not quite $100 - it was 10%. It ran all of July and August - "summer imaging".

I do think you could stack it with the normal Astronomics discount for CN members, so in the end it was very close to $100 off if you got it from our hosts (which I did).

Thanks for the info, I want to order one and not find it goes on sale a month later, another question: the 8 sct vs the edge hd, is it worth the price difference?

If you plan to use it to take pictures with it the Edge is superior. For visual use the regular 8" is just as good.

Went on sale the week after I bought it last year... Typical!

She's worth it though :-)
