Hi all,

tonight just one hour after the cold front had passed, the clouds vanished and I could sketch the waxing gibbous moon through the 5" MAK.
Since the seeing was really poor, I decided not to magnify high today but instead go for a sketch of the complete moon with just a bit more than 90x.

This was the first time that I sketched the complete moon and not just single craters. Hope you like it...

Date & Time: February 7th 2014, 2110-2230 CET
Telescope: Celestron Nexstar 127 SLT
Eyepiece: Maxvision 68° 16mm
Filter: variable polarizing filter

Achim,

This is an excellent capture and a great idea when the seeing prevents high power.
I like this paper you are using too.

Achim,

I really like your capture here and the effect the paper gives to your sketching. Nicely done.

Beautiful dimension, Achim! Like the others I think the media give a beautiful end result. :waytogo:

Hi all,

many thanks for the feedback! :D

Regarding the paper I use: The sketch was done in my observation notebook. The color might be due to poor white balance when scanning ;).

Here's a link to the notebooks: paperblanks

Achim

Skectching the full disk of the moon (o.k. the half in this case) it not an easy task. Well done!
