I have been searching around and failed to find a solution to this problem of mine. I have an Orion ED80T CF refraction for imaging which is mounted on the Celestron AVX mount. The stock L-shaped leg on the OTA is not sufficent to keep the OTA, DSLR, FF, autoguider, gudiescope affixed
to the mount safely. It is just too much weight. I need to get a pair of OTA rings and a dovetail to mount this scope on the AVX mount. Can anyone tell me what combination would you recommend? Or if you know what type and size dovetail bar is typically used on the Celestron AVX mount would be a great start.

Standard Vixen type dovetail fits it.

I use Williams Optics 90mm rings and an 8" dovetail plate to mount my ED80T to my Atlas

ScopeStuff sells rings and dovetail bars at very reasonable cost:
Rings: http://www.scopestuff.com/ss_rings.htm
Dovetail bars: http://www.scopestuff.com/ss_eqdb.htm

ADM also very good rings and bars but at a higher cost:
