Very nice review.

If I understood your statements regarding compatibility between different equipment the TAL RACI is compatible with ES mount and brackets.

I have hated every cheap optical finder I've come in contact with.

Could this be "the one"?

Interesting review of a product that's a bit off the beaten path.....Thanks!

Sorry. I did not mean to imply that. I did not test if they were cross compatible.

Well you did it again, BillP. Just when I had my astro gear needs all figured out I'll now have to get one of those TAL Finder scopes. :(
But thanks for the very informing review, Bill. I was actually aware of the shortcomings of my present finders ... just didn't know what to do about it.

I think I would like to have the TAL 9X50 Right Angle Version, but I have some questions about it: Would it have the same bright light-thru-put as the Straight Through 9X50? It may have erect but reversed view, but could still have a prism diagonal. What exactly does it have and where does the focuser fit - on the eyepiece or in front of the diagonal somehow ???

Thanks again, Bill.

I did not get to evaluate the RA version, only the striaght through. On none of the ones I had could the eyepiece be taken off, so it was integral to tthe finder. Rotating the eyepiece focussed the unit. The RA one looks the same. I do not think the diagonal comes off.

Best would be to ask Roman at TALTeleoptics. They are located in Michigan. info@talteleoptics.com

Thanks for this review. I too have been dissatisfied with the finder scopes I've used. These TAL finders look like the answer.
