Greetings all,

Please find attached a Mars drawing from last night. Alas seeing was not great, although some steady moments did occur. In the south Erythaeum can be made out, while Acidalium can be seen in the north, The north polar cap is now quite small but still visible. The thing that really took my attention was what looked like a bright cloud on the evening terminator- presumably over Moab/Eden. Similarly, there also appeared to be a bright cloud in Arcadia near the morning limb.

Best wishes,
-Paul

Paul, excellent Mars sketch. I have also noticed the shrinking of the NPC, as well as the increased cloud cover and limb haze. Although Mars is now closer than it was a couple of months ago the clouds and haze make observing details harder with the small scope I'm using in the mornings.

Paul, terrific observing as usual.

I just can't bring myself to go out into the frigid temps in the early morning anymore. I'm in Mars hibernation until the temps start creeping over 30ºF.

Paul,

Very nice Mars sketching.

I'm in agreement with Jason on the weather.

I tried to observe for myself Mars after my comet Panstarrs observation. But the air was much tu unsteady. I'll try it in the next days - it is alwasy intersting seeing the weather on other planets :)

This a very good sketch that mirrors what I saw last Thursday night. I have definitely seen the clouds along the dawn and dusk terminators, as well as both polar caps. The clouds were surprisingly distinct through my 15-inch despite the mediocre seeing.

Paul,

An excellent observation of Mars showing many interesting albedo features. The clouds recorded over the eastern (evening) terminator, Moab/Eden, Chryse/Xanthe, and Arcadia are very interesting and prominent. Thank you for sharing them with us all.

Regards,
Carlos
