In Mar.15,2014, I brings thirty local primary school students visited shanghai astronomy museum, I post some pictures here

the group photo in the entrance of the museum.

visit the 40cm binoculars.
this binoculars with a long history more than 100 years, it was produced in France in late 19 century, and China buy it and use it, in the past 100years, this binoculars takes thousands of pictures, it still can be use today.

some big radio telescope in the world,
in China, a 500m diameter radio telescope will be finished construction in the coming several years

flash instrument ( I don't know if this is the engligh name of this astronomy instrument)
but the Pluto was found by this instrument in 1930s

the 65m radio telescope, this is the biggest movable one in China even in whole Asia. the students are very excited to see such a big "Lid"

with 4 hours, we finished the visiting, on the bus back school, the students smiles like the blossoming flower

That is very cool! I saw the 'flash machine' that did find PLuto, at the Lowell Observatory. I think it is called a switching comparator? Is that (abridged armilla) a telescope?

yes, every 1 or 2 month I will organize a star party,and let primary school take part in it. we use telescope to watch the stars or I brings student to visit astronomy mesuem, I like to do that! :jump:

you can visit Taicang city and have a look
not far from shanghai, only 50km~ :lol:
