Here are my favourite sketches, all made with a 4" f5 refractor, pencil and paper, scanned and then smartened up on the computer.
It certainly brings back some good memories of fantastic skies.
First up is eta carina nebula, the first time that I had seen this wonderful object. I first observed it through Vic Menard's 22" dob so slightly less detailed in my 4" but still pretty fantastic. Eta is still pretty low on the horizon from Florida so I wonder what it must look like overhead? There was a dense open cluster alongside that made a nice pair in the binos.
