I do not often get to use other people's equipment to observe, and hardly ever get to observe the sun. But my friend, Jack, who we visited in January, gave me a wonderful opportunity to see the sun....for 15 minutes...before it clouded over. But what a 15 minutes. So the latest post on the blog has the sketch (link below my signature.) There is religious content in the story.

Thanks to all of you who post your sun sketching. I am not (I confess) very good at it, so you will see lots of errors. But I was so delighted to use my friends scope, and he has the same astro video camera that I do. So, I dove in. What a great time! It was done in mid Jan, but I have not had a chance to dig for the scan of the sketch and post it.

Thanks, Jack, again...

Roland,

That is a very impressive solar sketch.
Looks like you had a great time sketching it.

Frank :)

Roland,

An excellent H-alpha observation of the Sun. It is fun to observe the Sun in H-alpha. I hope that you and Linda are doing well. Thank you for sharing with us all.

Regards,
Carlos

Thanks for the comments. I would like to do more of them and perhaps will get the chance to get better. I still remember Erika's sketches that were time sequenced and all the detail she (and others who observe the sun) provide.
