Eventually I did manage a rough sketch of the lunar eclipse with the aid of a 4.25 inch f/5 Dobsonian telescope. It was somewhat difficult because clouds were blocking the view off and on and small bursts of snow accompanied these clouds. I decided to stay at it and managed good short intervals of sketching time when the southwestern sky cleared.
