I have produced a digital series of observations of the total lunar eclipse that occurred on April 15, 2014. I made a pencil sketch of the Moon prior to the eclipse then used it as template to record the successive events as depicted. I was fortunate to be able to view the entire event. The eclipse was a beautiful sight with prominent colors visible and I hope that others were able to view it as well. I hope that you all like it.

Regards,
Carlos

That's a great sketch sequence Carlos! I got a similar set of sketches (15 total images) of the eclipse. Are these naked eye or telescopic views? Wonderful observations!

Rich,

Thank you for the compliment on my total lunar eclipse series. These are naked eye observations that I made. It would have been a great view through binoculars or a telescope as well. I look forward to reviewing your lunar eclipse observations. The best of luck.

Regards,
Carlos

Carlos,

Wonderful sketching sequence of a fine lunar eclipse.
This seems the best way to do a sequence of sketches.
On the Danjon Scale I would not rate it at L4 but it was considered bright.

Frank :)

Andre,

Thank you for the compliment on my lunar eclipse series. It was a beautiful event to watch. It it makes you feel better the colors were refracted sunlight through the Earth's atmosphere :)

Carlos

A beautiful lunar eclipse sequence of sketches Carlos!

I had planned to sketch the image on site but clouds rolled in fast, so I was only able to get this one image which also shows the lower surrounding ground ambiance outside the eyepiece. I may still do a pastel sketch from memory and will refer to this photo image, possibly the best lunar eclipse photograph I have ever taken. >

I also drove over 175 miles that night to chase the clear skies, but instead found after the eclipse ended, Mount Hood under a spectacular lenticular cloud so I combined my images with artistic license. >

I look forward to your future observations and sketches,

Mark,

Thank you for the compliment on my lunar eclipse sequence. I was fortunate to enjoy good weather to view the entire event. I am sorry that you and other members of CN were not able to view it completely. Your image of the lunar eclipse is fantastic! The sharpness, contrast, and colors recorded are very impressive. Your lunar eclipse over Mt. Hood illustration is beautiful and masterfully executed. Thank you for sharing them with us all.

Regards,
Carlos

Carlos,
Beautiful work. I will have to view it through your sketches only as it rained here!

Thanks for Sharing.
