Wow, glad to hear that iAH will soon support INDI!

That will be another big improvement.

Thanks for your great work Anat!

Ciao,

Piero

Hi Anat,

I'm on the finally on the verge of installing iAstroHub!  Where can  download the cooked firmware for the ASUS WL-330N3G?

Thanks,

Bruce

Bruce:

Why do you need ASUS WL-330N3G  for iAstroHub?  :)  What devices do you use now?

Best regards,

Anat

Hi Anat,

I have an IC8300 and earlier you recommended that I use  the ASUS WL-330N3G because of the limitations of the IC8300 wifi.  You said your custom firmware for the ASUS WL-330N3G would work better.  My IC8300 came bundled with a ASUS WL-330N3G which is either a happy coincidence or I guess was at your suggestion because of your work with QHY?

Thanks,

Bruce

Hi Bruce,

I gave the custom firmware to QHY as well. If the interface of the router is one of OpenWRT, it is my custom firmware. Otherwise, you can get it here.
https://drive.google...iew?usp=sharing

Please get the firmware restoration app from
http://www.asus.com/...pDesk_Download/

The benefit of this firmware is that the wifi to serial bridge is installed in the router. So you can connect a FTDI or PL2303 based usb- serial adapter to the router and to your mount. Then you can control the mount from Skysafari.

Best regards,
Anat

Hi Anat,

I'll check the router to see if it's running OpenWRT.  I have used it before and don't believe that to be the case.  I'd really like to use your wifi to serial bridge!  I have SkySafari 4 Pro and it's my favorite planetarium software.  My mount is an Atlas Pro AZ/EQ GT and rather than a serial port on the mount, the hand controller connects via an RJ45.  My hand controller does have a DB9 on the bottom and that can be used in PC Direct Mode.  The IC8300 has built-in serial ports and a USB port.  I do have a USB to Serial adapter.  I'm unclear how I would make the connections between the IC8300, USB to Serial, and Router to make this work.  Are you saying connect the IC8300 via wifi to the router, connect the USB to Serial adapter to the USB of the IC8300 and the DB9 of the hand controller in PC Direct Mode, and connect the tablet or laptop running SS4 to the router via WIFI?  I suppose I could use the IC8300 internal serial port cable to connect rather than a USB to serial adapter?

Thank You,

Bruce

Hi Anat,

Actually, I was incorrect about the DB9 connector on the hand controller.  It has an RJ12 port and came with an RJ12 to DB9 cable.

Thank You,

Bruce

Hi,

I have a question which not so much related to iAstrohub as such but rather to its router functionality. I'd like to establish a teamviewer connection between two computers in the field. Would it be possible to achieve this by using iAstrohub as a WLAN router?

Sorry if that's a bit off topic but don't worry I will continue iAstrohub for its functionality too :-)

Best regards

Stephan

When iAH is used as an access point, it is possible to connect between to PCs via TeamViewer. You will need to accept "incoming LAN connections" under Extra > Option. Use IP address for connection.
