Star parties are not the right place for concentrated oberservations. Ervery time somebody asks something or wants to have a look. At Saturday I visited the telescope meeting in southern Brandenburg with its very dark sky (SQM reading 21.7 in zenit). In the forst hlaf of the night the moon stood above the horizon. We observed the plenets and of course the moon itself. I tried to sketch something, but I get it not finisghed. I used my 12 inch dobson at around 200x.

Uwe,

It is still an excellent observation of Cleomedes. Nice detail recorded over the floor of the crater. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Regards,
Carlos

Hi Uwe,

for an unfinished sketch this is looking really great! I like the "work-in-progress" character of it. :applause:

Uwe,

It looks very nice but sketching at a star party must be tough. You have done a remarkable job capturing the essence of Cleomedes. I for one would never try it.
You are courageous.

Frank :)

Thank you for your comments. Late in the night starparties offer more chances for dedicated work, but at the evening one shouldn't carry to much.
