I did some massive astronomy outreach at the Starlight Festival in Big Bear on Memorial Day weekend. Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. I showed the sun to festival goers, and from 8:30 to 11:00 p.m. I showed Mars and Jupiter to the public. The following day, Sunday, I again displayed the Sun from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. I would estimate a total of 400 people looked through my telescope this weekend. The Starlight Festival from my viewpoint was a tremendous success. I did not get to see any of the speakers and did a quick visit to the vendors, as I spent most of the time running my telescopes.

Let's do it again next year....and thanks for joining the outreach. We need more telescopes next time to keep the lines short.

We stood line for over an hour to look through the 28". I usually only stand that long when I've paid admission to Disneyland!
Oh, not scare people off - the other lines were MUCH shorter.
