Excellent review!

You might be able to tighten up the focuser with strips of light trap material. I use five 3/8 inch wide strips in entry level refractors with good success. They are then able to handle heavier eyepieces without sagging or wobbling around, keeping collimation.

Nice review.  It's good to see the trade-offs identified.

I took a look at the ES AR 127mm and the Bresser.  The ES improvements are better tube rings and a two-speed focuser.

The Bresser currently costs $500 on amazon.  The ES lists $600, with $50 off during sales.

So you have to pay 10-to-20 percent more for a better focuser.

I think experienced people would choose the better focuser.  However, beginners might rather use that 20 percent for another eye piece.

Excellent review.  I have not been on Cloudy nights in a while.  But this type of review is sure to bring me back.  Very helpful.
