Hey guys, i had boughten the Nextar Gt mount from ebay a few months ago and yesterday i dicided to look for mounting platform since the tripod i have now isnt that stable. So i was wondering, does somene sale it or is it possible to make a simple one? Could it be possible to 3d print it?

I did something similar and it is much better.

I have a GT mount also. To make it more stable I:

 

- placed a 5lb weight on the eyepiece tray

 

- retracted the legs so the were as short as I could get them

 

- took 3 cement blocks and turned them the long way up

 

- placed each tridod leg on top of one of the 3 blocks

 

The whole setup is very steady now.
