I've seen 97 so far, last year I managed to get 143 from August 7th-December 31st. How many have you seen?

I did not count them this year, but last year during the holiday at the sea side I've saw a total of 137 in one week. The Perseids peaked in that week.

A lot of the major showers last year got clouded out. The only shower I got a good look at were the Orionids, during almost full moon, but 137 in 1 week, wow... :bigshock:

Two or three years ago I was often viewing meteorites from my room's window. It was not in the period of meteor showers and my fov was small but I could see at least five in one hour. But the neck pain...ouch.

In my opinion you can always see at least 10 sporadic meteorites in one hour, if you have a decent fov, patience ... and a comfortable position.

Ever since viewing the Leonid shower of 2001 for several hours , that peaked where I was viewing from at  ~ 3,500 per hour. I've become a bit jaded about most annual showers.

I've seen AT LEAST 40 meteors this year, the most being around the time of the Perseids when it seemed like it was raining slowly. I could have seen more, but I was looking down through a telescope!

Does anyone know if pieces have been found?
