Comet Jacques that is eg in NE after dusk - and with its huge 20,000 year orbit [HeavensAbove] this apparition won't be repeated for awhile !   My video clip shows it motion and orbit @ http://youtu.be/s1_i-NNPPDI  Shot below with Heathrow bound jet via piggybacked 11cm f/4 Newt ;)

Bunch of folks got to see it on NSN the other night with Craig A testing a camera. Nice little target.

Maurice, Nice shot but did you get the airline and tail number on that plane?

As a common proponent of observing comets, I brought this up to Tom (I believe, please correct me if I'm wrong) several days ago and we got a good look. I think he was using a Lodestar X2. We also were able to ID some faint galaxies nearby. In addition the goto was so spot on that it was at the center of the FOV the first time. Good job Tom...

Thanks guys for your interest and comments.   Here's my pic [30cm SCT+Lodestar-Cx2; 60s exp] taken a few minutes ago of this fine and fast moving comet - hint of tail @ 4 o'clock from coma - best seen by "averted vision" !
