Nice blend job. I always like it when folks blend their projects into the existing flora! Mike

Well, eventually I liked it so much I based my observatory on yours! Here's Eucalyptus Observatory!

You can see more on my webpage as well as some construction pics.

Hey Josi....here's a blast from the past. I posted this on the first page of this thread back on April 10, 2006. Anything look vaguely familiar?

Yep! Considerable "deforestation" was necessary to get any skyroom. Forest was "over mature" as they apparently say in the forestry biz. It's their way of saying "the trees are falling over dead!"

I am in a race with winter. I really hope to get a roll-off observatory before snow flies, but things have not progressed anywhere near as quickly as I had hoped. I was supposed to have a pier poured more than a month ago. I still hope from day-to-day but not ready for a pier yet . . . and weather is becoming an increasing impediment on a daily basis. :(

On the up side . . . I do have lots of clear sky now.

We should have a special thread called 'chain saws for astronomers!' They can, after all, be as important as good eyepieces!

Good luck getting it all finish graded and poured before the freeze!

Here is a more recent shot of my nearly finished OBS.
The name is still tough to come up with. My 2 year old granddaughter calls it "Grandpa's House."
