The old page put together to list the websites of Cloudy Nights members was...ummm...not being kept up, so a new one has been started. I included the sites that were on the old list for current members, including changes and additions from the old thread. The new list can be found here:

Cloudy Nights - Member Websites

If you would like to have your non-commercial astronomy-related website added, please send me a PM with the URL and name of your site, or post it in this thread, and I will add it to the member website.

Enjoy! :)

Thanks, Dan, got it added! Hey, you use the same background I use on my site, except I don't have it twinkling. :)

Steph -

Maybe cross-post this in the OTO or Beginner's Forum to get some more exposure. Out of 7000+ members, there is likely to be several dozen more websites not currently on the list. Nice job on updating/upgrading the list though! I like the new look. BTW, I checked out your site. Nice work and I was drooling over your growing collection of refractors. As a gag, maybe get some material from Walmart and craft a little KILT to put around the OTA of the Yard Cannon before Scott reclaims it! :poke: :silly:

Ok, this is rambling off topic now...

Clear dark skies...

Got it, microbes, thanks! :)

Mike, thanks for your comments also. :) I'm working on the best way to publicize this a bit better, to not only get more sites added but also let folks know about some of the great resources already included on the listing. And I like the kilt idea for the Yard Cannon... :hmmmm:

Go look at the webpage, Bobby...be sure and read the part that says the sites are listed alphabetically by member name...proceed logically from there...

(The short version is that you're already listed... ;))

Hi Steph,

I have a little site about sketching, mostly DSO's :

'Rony's ETX Site'

It's mentionned in my signature.

Thanks for adding it to your great list.

Dennis, Jim, Peter, Rony, Paul -- got you all added along with several from PMs received. Thanks everyone! :D

Dennis, you asked about club websites. We want to keep this list just for CN member websites, there are plenty of other sites that list clubs and other ways to find those (including some pinned links down in our very own Astro Outreach, Clubs and Star Parties forum to ways to search for clubs in a member's area). :) And hey, your clock is working...not that it's anything to write home about right now. :(

Many years back, I used to run a "links portal" website. I can attest to the amount of work it takes to police the list and weed out 404's (not founds) and changed URLs. So, let's not make Steph work herself to death keeping this list up to date. I pledge on the behalf of my fellow webmasters to inform Steph via this thread or PM if/when my website URL or status should change. If we all remember to keep the list current, then it will be useful and fun for others to browse.

Clear dark skies to all...
