Quote:so has anyone determined exactly why the Nexstar GPS is not officially supported??. What about it that's not working?. I have just gotten a Nexstar 8GPS that has fully upgraded firmware and the hand controller is fully upgraded with Skyalign and the latest firmware.. will the Star Sense work?.. any work arounds?.. Thanks all!
Quote:Chris M.I am using an IOGEAR 4 usb port wireless sharing station. It's small and can be run on 12volts or 110volts and easily reaches the 50+ ft. to my router in the house. I'm using Starry Night through Ascom and as long as I'm using NexStar my Nextremote works also. It's nice not needing a laptop at the mount to be wireless. I wanted to use one of those Bluetooth dongles, their nice but I needed something to make my DSI wireless for imaging too. I bet it's nice being able to operate it from your tablet or smartphone. I just realized since I have windows 8.1 on my laptop I can use apps.Neilson

Quote:On October 25 I made a comment that the SSA works well with a CPC 1100 it still does although the hand set will not retain GPS time ,and date.I have to enter the info every timeI push the back button. Now I have installed the heavy duty wedge, and finally with the last four clear nights I haven't accomplished a polar alignment using the manual and rereading it many times with out success I sure its operator error and not understanding .My Nexstar hand set retains all info and has no issues with the alignment,so I'm at a loss why the SSA will only point the tube at the earth?I will keep attempting to figure out this situation ,but just wanted vent a little. L.S.P.S. the wedge and tripod is set with my lat/long 39degrees and 104degrees with Polaris
