“I am the only person to ever ace a 1951 USAF resolution test. My 'to observe' list says 'done'. I do not use charts or atlases when I starhop; men do not use maps. One of my sketches won an SBIG deep sky imaging contest. I am the life of star parties I have never attended. I never say anything looks like a faint fuzzy - not even a faint fuzzy. Pilots aim green laser pointers at me. Don Pensack proofreads my CN forum posts.” - The Most Interesting Astronomer in the Universe

Quote:Beautiful scopes everyone! Jim, the wooden tripod you have for that setup is very nice looking and I'm sure works great with that mount and your good looking ES AR102. Best, Linda B.

Quote:What height AP pier is that, Paul? 48" or 54"? I'm using a 54" ATS pier with my 175. I'm 6'3" tall and don't care to crouch too low while observing at objects towards the zenith. Using the newer 900CP3 mount with higher side walls, the 54" pier keeps my eyepiece at at least 42" off of the ground when the 175 is pointing straight up. I can stay comfortably seated at all scope elevations in my CatsPerch chair.
