Just one now. 2.5x Powermate. I had a 2x Shorty Plus. Great little Barlow. I am also in the market for a 2" 2x Powermate. But just one right now.

Maybe off topic, but I'd like to hear why you like one over another. There doesn't seem to be many Barlow comparisons out there. I suppose it is because of the fact that they give such diverse magnifications may make it hard to compare.
Even so, I'm interested in peoples opinions.

I recently sold my last barlow. Now that I have my BO/TMB Planetary EP's - I find I don't need a barlow.

While I'm not fond of barlows, I seem to own four.
Clave 1.25" 2x - used to use it infrequently.
TMB 1.8x ED barlow - the nicest one I've found, but used infrequently - I have more than a dozen eyepieces between 2.5 and 9mm.
Televue 4x Powermate - used for imaging with a D70.
Televue 5x Powermate - used for imaging planets.

Ah, Lawrence, another barlow-olic! I'm glad to see several people "confessing" to 5 barlows... and ownership at one point of many more. Makes me feel better.
David's question is a good one. I sold a Celestron Ultima 2x barlow, the one that everyone raves about, years ago, because it gave darker more obscure views than a simple old Meade #126. I still do not know if it is a poor sample or whether this was due to the difference in mag factor (likely) of 1.9x vs. about 2.4-2.5x. I was also inexperienced and was using small SCTs and I think all that contributed. I've never tried a 2x Ultima again, but have been tempted, too, because of all the accolades. But with 8 barlows, that's not the direction I should be going in!
I'll stop here, and wait for others to tell their tales, but I also sold a TV 2x barlow, too, as it lost in a barlow competition I held!

Ah, the Klee. One that (despite having owned at least the 13 that I can recall) I have not owned. I sort of hear it calling to me. Must resist!!!

I own one or two Celestron Barlows which I never use.. they came with some kits that I got with my scope. I sold my Klee, I'm thinking of trying the TV barlow if I ever get some nice plossls. I have yet to be a fan of barlows.

I owned a Klee once and thought it was very good, but the siren's call of a TV Powermate proved too much to resist! Still, the Klee is an excellent barlow and I recommend it.

that is what I've heard, but I still didn't care for it. That is why I'm not sure I would like any of them...

I got my 1.8x Televue yesterday (my 4th barlow, not counting the plastic duds). Came with about 1 hour of unbelievably stunning seeing for Jovian moon + shadow transit. The TV barlow is a beaut! XW 10mm + TV 1.8x make for an awesome high-power combo.

Yay! Someone de-throned me as barlow champ! Someone has 10+. (Or they were simply being kind to me? Or maye it was a data entry error!)
I'm now up to 9, bought another recently... but will soon start selling them off... well soon that is after I figure out which ones to keep! I'm thinking 2x and 3x shorties and 2x, 2.5x, and 3x long ones. But it could even be just the shorties and the 2.5x.

Good news! I had gotten up to nine (truly a problem), but after some soul-searching and observing comparisons, I bit the bullet and sold some.
I'm now down to *only* six barlows!
I have 3 Televues-- 2x, 2.5x, and 3x. That's a good set.
I also own a Klee (2.8x), an Orion 2x shorty (not the plus--this one's threaded for filters which is useful), and an Orion long, fully baffled 2x that is superb for planets.
Anyone else paring down their sets?
As I get older, more jaded, or more lazy, I find myself using barlows less and less. It just seems more of a hassle to mess with them in the dark (well, my backyard isn't really dark, but you know what I mean!).
