Hi CESDewar....I was wondering why for any particular reason you did not go with the PoewerSwitch for your DenkII?
No, the one's I have do have the power-switch. I have commented that the three power-switch settings are very far from being parfocal - you have to rack the focusser a long way between the settings, which takes away a little bit from the convenience, but it's still less effort than swapping EP's.

Kinda late here, but TV rep John Rhodes replied to a similar question on the TV Yahoo! forum recently. Here's the link:

Hope this helps someone.

I think I will just get a pair of 15mm Axiom LX 82° eyepieces and save about a grand.

Does anyone think it is possible to binoview with the new Ethos eyepieces...
I was able to get a measurement of the diameter of the Ethos from a photograph of it next to a 13mm T6 Nagler in the new Cloudy Nights review. The diameter of the Ethos is approximately 64mm (+/- 1mm). This means that you would have to have an IPD of at least this much. Furthermore, you will have no nose relief whatsoever, so anyone known as "big nose" isn't going to find it comfortable for binoviewing.

Thanks Jim...for the link
Thanks Joe...
Thanks Darren.... I guess your calculation pretty much eliminate this as a possiblity.....although I did see a pic of David Nagler using Ethos in a binoviewer....

Does anyone think it is possible to binoview with the new Ethos eyepieces and how do you think such a view will be? thanks. Tony
It would be possible, though tight. I have the next closest thing to mm's and size (physical), though only 80 degrees. The 12mm Speers are really fantastic in my shortened 105mm f15 refractor (no corrector). Without a doubt the best EP pairs I have ever looked through in a bino-viewer.
Bino-viewing can be really subjective: Quote:
I don't know about them, but I don't enjoy even 70 degrees.
Like John just said, he doesn't enjoy it at 70, but his combo might not have been the best even though he may have had very expensive EP's. Others may have found it very good...just like the dual Speers 12mm 80's that I use...very easy to use and very comfortable. Its fun to look around a bit, you can really get lost in the views.
Of course from the photo, you can see just how close the EP's are, the Ethos are a little bigger in diameter and may touch, if used in a bino-viewer like my Burgess.

In addition to the 24 Pans, my wide field binoviewing eyepiece set includes the 16, 13, 11, 9, 7 and 5 Naglers.
After reading this I came across a good deal on a 13mm Nagler T6. Since I already had one I thought what the heck, might be cool in the Mark V.
NOPE. Spacewalk effect totally gone. Not pleasing at all with a VERY fuzzy field stop. Actually seemed more constrictive AFoV than the 15mm Panoptic pairs.
I think I am going to try a pair of 12.5mm Tak LE's next.
clear skies,
Rick
