Hey Bird, now they are ganging up on us with having the same scopes and all. They can't even get the polar cap similar. Next thing Ron will post one with the cap off to one side. Bout time you got the Tak going Charles, I reckon it will be better than Bertha. Now do a Ron and shoot for a ToUcam. Well done, Gary

I don't need no stinkin ToUCAM
My Nikon works just fine when the weather is right. Tonight was a really, really rare night, almost like a rare winter onight only warm. We had a late evening rain about 9PM and it cleared out all the haze and the atmosphere was really stable. I bet I have only a couple of bad frames out of every five. Usually its the other way around one good frame for every ten.
I'm going to process one last set then take a shower and go to work. I guess tomorrow night will be a wash but I just could not let this night go. My last set of pictures I had to drop the shutter speed to 1/8 because the roof was blocking have my optics.

Here is my last Mars for the night, I had to shoot these images at 1/8 because my roof was blocking half my optics. Came out pretty good. he..he.. You downunder guys have some competition now....well as lomg as my weather holds hope which will be until the sun rises. I doubt I won;t see another night like this one until Mid-Febuary. Oh and I line it upside down for you'll... wouldn't want anyone calling foul.
Good-da Charles

Thanks Bird. Hey I sent Gary an email and told him to pass it on to you, I forgot you email address. It has some trade secrets in it. No they're not Hubble shoots!

Charles,
Excellent shot. About time you got good weather, but you have to do something like this every time from now on.
Thanks, Burton

Wow - very nice, indeed, Charles. This is the best learning experience I've had in imaging (and processing); you guys really raise the bar. Unless I get a very unusual night next week, I think I've got the best AVI's I'm gonna get. I'll spend some time this weekend going through them very carefully to see what's there but it's clear I'm running with the wrong crowd.

Way to go Charles! You da Man!
Went and bought a laptop last night - as scarey as buying a new scope. Hope to get the ToUcam hooked up and do some downloading this weekend. Get back into the game here. Learning curve all over the place. New camera, new OS,new hardware: I'll be lucky to get anything.
Then we can see what a Celestron Mars looks like although I must admit a Takahashi Mars leaves little to be desired.
I may have to send the images to Charles or Bird to have processed.
You mean that white thing is not a chip defect?
Hopefull Ron

Hey Charles,
Very, very nice. The TAK seems to be one heck of a scope. I'm jealous!

Here's a new processed mars, but only at f/12 so it's small.
It was taken before conditions settled down, so the quality is not so good.
