anyone else here have doubts that we landed on the moon? i'm not trying to be naive but i would really enjoy a discussion on this and don't really know where to get more info on it. and i am not saying i believe either way, just want more info. this interest was sparked (obviously) by the documentary "Conspiracy Theory: did we land on the moon" and i realise there have been many that have shot that while thing down so i would like to read that or watch it also. any info or discussion would great thanks.

Also the current shuttle mission, was it cancelled because of a faulty fuel sensor or the Hollywood writers strike?
Heres a link to debunk the hoax theories,Im sure someone else will post more and even better links.

Which Moon lander do you want to see? There were six of them.

Are you sure that those pictures from Hubble aren't fake?

If Apollo left nothing on the moon then certain researchers must be very puzzled.

*sigh*
I think it's okay to be skeptical, but sometimes we have to be careful of where we direct our skepticism. Pulling off an Apollo moon landing hoax seems more difficult than actually landing on the moon.
chee, you need to read this. It's Dr. Phil Plait's Bad Astronomy website where he debunks a lot of the misconceptions about Apollo and other astronomy related topics.

Its good that people want to learn about the apollo missions,I was just havin' fun with ya.
Years ago a guy I flew RC helicopters with the guy that did the heli crash scenes in the movie"Capricorn One".The movie was about the very topic of the lunar mission being faked, its a pretty good movie even though it was fictional. If you ever get a chance watch it.
Heres a clip from the movie...

Is current technology capable of building a telescope which could resolve an object as small as the LEM descent stage from Earth ? imagine cost is no object, within reason.

The problem is that this suject is so rediculous that even giving the program serious thought displays a certain lack of critical thinking and gullibility. And I'm not saying that to be mean, I'm just telling you that you really aught to learn to think more critically. It will serve you well in life.

From orbit, yes, from the surface of the earth, no (the atmosphere gets in the way).

Not even the Hubble space telescope can resolve the lander on the surface of the moon. The resolution works out to be about the size of a football field.

The short answer is you'd need a 200-meter mirror to resolve an object that small, assuming perfect seeing. It'd probably be easier to build a new lander and go there to see for yourself.

Plus I thought I read that the imaging sensors would be fried by the intense light of the sun or moon and hubble couldnt be pointed at the sun, moon,or earth because of that?

I'm not being serious, I'm just wondering what it would take in terms of optical technology - a thought experiment if you like. 200 metres then ?

ok guys, i thought that you would get a laugh from the notion of seeing the moon lander with a telescope. sorry, i didn't mean it seriously. but the discussion is interesting . though not my intention. i was just interested in finding some conspiracy debunking sites. all the links so far are great, thanks very much. now i just have to read them
oh and russ i apologize for being so gullible, i guess i always thought of it more as uninformed and open minded. though you probably think that is just as bad. so again i apologize.

The Hubble can't look within 10 degrees of the Sun, I think. The situation you are describing is in the book The Hubble Wars
I have read the book, but I don't have it handy to look up.

Hubble has indeed been pointed at the moon. Just this past summer in fact. It was done in order to help NASA look for water and future landing sites.
