God I would do anything to get a hold of that Televue just to use it for an evening. I have used a Televue 85 and 76 and they are very nice, but would love to see and use the 101, 102, and 127 and the very rare 140.
Come to TSP '07 -- it's not *that* far from Airyzony!

I would love to but thats a bad time for me, have somethings to take care of around then. You ever thought about the Grand Canyon Star Party? It is so much fun, its in early June. Give it some though. fills up super fast so I would recommend getting reservations now. Friends of mine and me will be down on the last 4 days.

Is the white refractor a Astro-Physics? Or a Celestron C-6 that has been painted white?
It is my C6 powder coated white.

Put up some pictures when your 16inch Light Bridge comes in.
You can count on that! In fact I made a call to OPT, who said they "might" be getting the first batch in before the end of the year. We'll see.
This is the only good close up of the OTA on the WO-EZT.

I think the white looks better, I bet it helps when doing solar, my black 6 inch reflector gets so hot. But first I need to buy the C-6R before I paint it white or what ever. What mount is that on?

Yeah, Jim's bugging me to come, too. Won't be 2007, I'm already planning on (hopefully) going to Ohio at the end of that week for Sky Tour or Buckeye on the Sky or whatever it ends up being. But maybe 2008, I'd love to get to the Grand Canyon some day for sure, and before I'm too old and decrepit to enjoy hiking it a little bit.

The HD EQ6 tripod and the counter weight and shaft made it possible.
nvm? sorry I forgot what that stands for.

The EQ6 GOTO and a Losmandy G11 tripod. Sorry for the blurry picture...very uncommon for me.

OK EVERYONE I HAVE THE VERDICT ON DENNIS YOUNG'S DOB.
He did play a joke, it was a flat mirror. He said he just paid $40 for the thing and put it over the 28 inch mirror.
But here are the stats on the real 28 inch.
Primary Mirror Size: 28"
2nd Mirror Size: 7"
Focal Length: f/3.8
Some "Wide feild" scope right there. Yeah right, with that Nagler 31 in there we were looking at dust lanes inside the Veil.

That's kinda what Joe Bergeron said last year after I called it a 36" 'Yard of Stars' in my observing report. That secondary is bigger than my first scope!

Haha, I know I sat there for about 15 mins. looking at the 28" and then looking at the 7 inch secondary mirror and everything about that "scope" is just BIG.

Here are a few more picts from the TMSP. This one was one of the last, with around 1500 people showing up. The Forest Service later limited it to 750.

Who says the Paramount isn't field transportable. This one had a 14" SCT from Celestron.
