Pictures! So John, that IS you in Jeff's 5th pic, isn't it? Looks like you and your set-up. Wow, and neither you nor Gary took your 20" dobs? Shocker!

Wow - there I am! I only looked for myself in the food photos...

Gary's 20" remained in the trailer while mine remained at home (limited Jeep capacity).

I was determined to bring the 6" A&M APO out from under the shadow of the 20" Obsession...

Actually, I did not feel aperture-challenged at all because I finally got to use my Collins I3 eyepiece with a brand new narrow-band 13nm Astronomik H-alpha filter. WOW! After several of us got to see a great view of the Horsehead Nebula in a 6" scope, I really didn't feel the need to set up the 20".

Update: the 30" Obsession on order is now due in November!

I understand. The view of the horsehead through the I3/13nm and the view of M42 without were fabulous! Thanks Gary.

Yup, still have the 15" and a bunch of others that I've collected over the years. They show up in my sig line from time to time...

Wow,
I just found this thread. By all the pictures I've seen it sure looks like everyone had a great time. There's always next year, hopefully I'll be able to get away from work by then.

BTW even though I wasn't there looks like my 10" dob made the gaze with Dave Lacko, I noticed it in the pic of his 18" Obsession clone.

I kind of like this one. The two big white scopes are John Crilly's.

Oh My Gosh!!! I wanted to go to this SO BAD!!! It's been on my calender since BEOTS...but then work got so darned busy - FINALLY. I ended up working 30 hrs over the GLSG weekend and missed the big event. Only good thing is that I made $$$ I usually make over an entire month - and it needed to be done. And now I see i missed all my BEOTS/CN friends who were lucky enough to go. I SO wanted to drag out M31 thru J Crilly's big DOB - I have even dreamed of it....and now I see it in one of the pics.... I blew it . And you Mike... you slept??? I thought 'sleep was overrated'! .... anyway, sorry I missed you all there...

Steve - Don't feel bad, I had to miss it too due to work obligations and I only live about an hour and a half away...

It's on my calendar for next year though...
