That thought did cross my mind, and I did bring my scope portfolio. I thought it best not to make such a fuss.

Who am I? I just happen to own a biigger then avarage scope, and there is more to all this(I gather) then scopes.

If some come to Table Mountain, then they will see.

I just go around it, coming through Shelten, and off to Olympia, via 101.

Mike,

I'm from the sprawling megalopolis of Scappoose.

I also have an idea for everyone if it clouds up so no-one wastes a trip. Bring your NVGs, camo and IR cameras and we can go Bigfoot hunting ...its prime Sasquatch country up on the Mountain and I can't think of anything else fun to do in the dark if we can't break out the scopes. (I actually did this last year near Mt. Hood with a friend...boy did we look like a bunch of freaks. If any nightime Park Ranger had spotted us, he'd have called in the Gendarme for sure!)

Keith

Now you're going to send me to my Ore. Atlas & Gazeteer for that place, wherever it is. (No hints, please!) Great excuse to lose myself in a map for an hour or two!

Mike, we would love to have you at any event!

Well it looks like I missed a lot while on my trip to Las Vegas. I will give you all a first light report and I will stop complaining about the light pollution here in Issaquah.

While standing on the Vegas strip at 10:00 pm I looked up and saw the Moon and a star.

At least I think it was a star, of course I had no idea which direction was north. I did see a great reflection of the Sun off the copper colored glass of the Wynn casino in the morning!

I can't wait to do some viewing here in the Great NW with some great CN'ers!

Glad you're back in the great state of Washington.

It is truley amazing how the light from one overpopulated city can obscure the stars of a mighty sky as found in Nevada.

Rob(let em all go to sin city, so I can get about to seeing stars)

P.S. I get my R/V tonight.

I just brought it home, and it will have to live on the drive, over by the grapes.
I will build a place to park it, farther over, between the grape arbors next to the garage this summer.

It will be very nice for those cumfy nights before, and after, viewing. The onboard generator will be very nice.

Any news on St Helens?

OK, Bob Hope!, You got me there, only because I set myself up for that one.

The extreme measures one must take to not entice circus workers to pray on the unsuspecting... are extensive I guess..

So, slice, have you got a date in mind when you want to come over, and hook me up with some electronic knowledge?

Maybe a day that you can stay a bit longer, so we can plan the demise of the local star party circuit.

Rob(don't forget to *hook* me up)

Gentlemen and Ladies,

Has there been any update yet as to the party location, Johnson Ridge or other? I know its still two months away, but I'm required to give notice early at my house.

I haven't heard a thing.
I think Kerry is coming over today, so I will get some info from him, if he has any.

Looks like I will be going to Oregon on Saturday for the week end, and will try to stop by Mt St Helens and do some searching for a good spot.

I'll check on the places already mentioned too.

Well...I have good news and bad news.
On a side note, it snowed on Saturday and it warmed up a lot on Sunday and it all melted.
Well I forgot that they close most of the areas during the winter. It won't be open till mid May, so I might not have enough time to go and scout out a good location for us to view. It would only give me a one week window to work with.

Sorry, I guess I don't have any good news.

Maybe some one else has some suggestions?

I'm still holding out loose hope for Helens but the Sun Lakes one looks real good too. I have been to some of the others and alot of them have too many trees.
