S&T Sept 2006
      #1060181 - 07/25/06 06:07 PM

I know we have had some issues in that past when it came to content, but I thought that the Sept 2006 issue is awesome, I got mine last week and read it through my lunch today. I really enjoyed the asteriod and observatory stories.

I too thought the observatory article was interesting. In fact almost all the articles were interesting. In spite of the occasional grumbling I think S&T is hands down a fine periodical and hasn't suffered from the change of ownership.I look forward to every issue.

usually S&T beats Astronomy, but the 8/06 Astronomy issue on meteorites was pretty good-the best Astronomy magazine in a long time.

That's a problem with issues devoted to one topic, though: if that topic isn't so interesting to you, you sort of get rooked out of a whole month's magazine. Ah well.

I finally got my copy of the Sept. S & T. I agree with those who think this is an excellent issue. I particularly liked the Photoshop ad and the piece entitled "Moonlight Sonata."

I agree. I would like to eventually own a couple of meteorites, and it sparked an interest, but the whole mag was devoted to it, and I'm not really that interested. I will try the next issue, but if it is only on one topic I'll give up.

That is the problem with both S&T and Astronomy-some issues are winners, some losers, many just so-so.

And the ones I think are winners others find less than worthwhile. When you publish a magazine, you play a game of averages and stay in business if you can please most of the people most of the time.

My hat's off to the editors involved, and I'm glad it's not my job to make those decisions!
