Pretty good! I like the nebulosity. This camera shows challenge to SBIG.

I think i've tried all the suggested links to info on this camera but none of them seem to work except the (chinese?) non-english site. Would anyone have a proven link so I can look at details of the cameras?
Thanks,
Alan C.

Hello, the production page of QHY cameras is now being constructed. It's likely to be online by February. The link provided above is most probably to be same as the new production page, just with a better arrangement.

The Q8-HR from CCD-Labs seems to be same camera as the QHY8...

There are manufacturers. There are distributors.
There are "branded suppliers".
(BTW, I don't think it's worthwhile to be stuck on this subject. It's just a small amateur market. Please use your own imaginations )

Yup exactly. I am not sure whether QHY sells directly to the overseas market. I am going to ask him later.

Thanks for the info. Do you have any images taken by QHY8 to show to us? I saw that you have a great mount and a superb refractor!

Hi Kim,

Well not really had chance to try it out properly yet. Just done a couple of short tests, the weather here is so bad at the moment. I'll try to get out when we finally get some clear sky...

It is for the most part. There are some subtle changes. No external powersupply needed. Some what different Sealed chamber. US warrenty work and service. Other than that it is the same camera. CCD-Labs and QHY are partnering on this in the US. I do sell overseas though as well.....can't say to much more without violating TOS here. I will put together a list of all dealers/distributors/VARs (value added reseller) and post links.

One other quick thing to note for potential customers is the supplied software. QHY's version comes with his software and the CCD Labs version comes with Nebulosity.

It also includes MaximDL driver, and just about to be released Astro Art 3.
The manufacturer is programming different menus in his Astro Art driver, which is taking him a little longer than normal.

Looks good!
Wonder how it compares to the new Orion 1.8" CCD cam at $1300. Sure is driving me nuts!...if I get my new job, do I go with a mono cam with a large CCD or color lol...I have a DMK mono and have become proficient at color filters but darn...it'd be nice to not have to get the RGB's on dim stuff with only my 80mm ED
