Winter where I live is awesome because you have Sagittarius, M8, etc., almost directly overhead and the temperature goes subzero at night which keeps the camera cool and reduces noise.
The Tarantula is a spring-summer object for me. I've been thwarted everytime this year in my efforts to get some good Tarantula data. This pic is my best so far and it's just a few short subs that I took as an experiment after I'd finished with another target. I want to try it with my new UHC-S filter.

Another good image. I like the blue color of the nebulosity -- it's a refreshing change from all the red H-alpha nebulosity that you normally see.

I tried to make it red. There appears to be a whole heap of blue signal (H-beta & OIII ?) in there.
Before the season is over I'll use my 2" UHC-S filter which seems to have a net effect of altering the color balance toward red and we'll see how that goes.
