Hi,
I had excellent seeing conditions this morning. Thanks to Micheal for sending good seeing my way.
Seeing was 8-9 P. I used my 9.75" reflector. Magnification was 397x though seeing supported 454x. Time for sketch was 0741-0759 UT. System III meridian was at 311.85 degrees.
There was not anything unusual noted for this observation except;
SEB had noticeably mottled appearance. With a W80a filter, there appeared to be a somewhat brighter, spot-like feature just to the left of the CM in the SEBn as it appears in sketch. This was hardly noticeable without the filter. Nor was it visible with green.
The EZ had some interesting darker shading in its northern half appearing as sketched. A W56 helped with seeing this, but sketched rendition was in I.L.
Edges of the rings over disk were very sharp and dark.
The NPR showed the NNTB as sketched with extreme NPR showed is shaded appearance.
Dione appears at lower right.
All in all, best seeing conditions yet for this apparition.
Best,

Sol,
A beautiful and well executed rendering of the ringed planet! The detail within the South Equatorial Belt (SEB) is very interesting. The thin bands over the South Tropical Zone (STrZ) and North Tropical Zone (NTrZ) are interesting as well. I look forward to your future observations.

Beautiful sketch Sol. That ring shadow on the northern hemisphere is quite distinct now. Excellent!

Awesome sketch, Sol! The subtle nick in the following side of the B ring, hints of the Enke minima in the C ring, and the white spot & mottling you perceived in the SEB are great observations, and fantastically captured in your sketch. Nice touch with the addition Dione too.
