Rob, lat year a lot of folks went from TMSP to MBSP and had a great two weeks. The week of MBSP is better from the moon's point of view (as in less of it). So, go ahead and make a summer's vacation of it, two weeks of star parties is an amazing tradition to begin .

With as much snow as Mt Bachelor has at the moment, I don't think we even want to THINK about going up there with a telescope (as if the snow/rain/clouds/wind we're having will let us do ANY viewing. I think our weather is worse than Seattle's).
Its good Bigfoot weather...take binoculars.

Sorry, I'm a bit late here. I keep telling them to update the darned website.
Mt Bachelor is August 8-12 2007. The contact info (eventually) will be put up on http://www.mbsp.org. Or I guess you can pm me because I think I'm going to be in charge of it this year.

You're going to be in charge Larry Cool.
You think we will have any major contributing vendors???
I mean, not that I care. I go to these things to buddy up with other AA's, not buy stuff. On the other hand, I do enjoy the professionalism that vendors bring to these shin digs.
Shoot it looks like, Keith, Kerry, you, the lawyer guy, a couple of those Seattle dudes, and yours truly are all gonna be there. Looks like the MSHSP crowd gettin it on at Mt*B*. Aint that a thing?
Rob(please forgive me if I left you off the roster)(since I don't even know the roster, that is OK)

Rob, unfortunately, the only true vendor there will be Sun River Nature Center. There is a weird USFS rule that allows only Mt Bachelor Corp (whatever their official name is today) vend on site. Because this Star Party is a benefit for The Mt Bachelor Ski Foundation AND Sunriver Nature Center (both non-profits) and Sun River is a part of the Mt Bachelor Ski Foundation -- thus in some weird way, only they are allowed. I feel this is unfortunate as I do like to see lots of vendors at Star Parties. This doesn't, however, preclude folks from selling out of their camping facility---Sean's Astronomy was there last year with a good bit of stock in their van.
FWIW, Televue's John Rhodes is scheduled to be set up for demos as he was last year.
Steph, I have yet to make a MSHSP but would LOVE to have you come to Mt Bachelor.

Sub movies have large refractors in them too.....*UP Refractor* was a good one.
Now thats funny! Could you imagine...a periscope refractor with the hydraulics lift system. (Oh yeah, Rob's got that covered...I forgot.)
Either way Steph, you can't go wrong.
