Hello, this is an other sketch made during that last week of 2006, with an extremely unusual lack of turbulence, and the moon appearing through a thick wall of mist.
Eratosthenes, sort of a black hole watching the darkness of "nothing"...

Richard,
I have to say that you are at the origin of those little sketches. I tried to copy your way, and tried to obtain a rendering quite similar to yours, taking more or less the same technique as the one you explained in your tutorials. But I am obviously very far behind you in terms of the strength and power you introduce in your work. Yours is master calligraphy, not plain sketches...

Hello Pierre,
This sketch is beautifully done (as is your sketch of Aristillus and Autolycus). You've taken Rich's technique and put your own stamp on it. For instance, I've never seen the rough texture of the mountains rendered in quite that way. I'm looking forward to more of your work--welcome to CN.

Pierre,
A beautiful and accurate observation of Erathosthenes. This crater does appear to stare into the blackness of the heavens. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Pierre. I am new to C.N and I am just starting too look at all the different sites, and I have to say this is one of the best I have come across. It is down to people like yourself that make it so exciting. You are very good at what you do, I am going to trawl the pages now too see if I can find more of your work..

Pierre,
Fabulous handling of light and rendered texture. You also have a great understanding of what are known in fine arts as found and lost lines.
Thanks!
