Robin Casady Stainless Steel Counter Weight
      #1373351 - 01/20/07 05:34 PM Attachment (34 downloads)

Ok, so a counter weight isn't the most glamorous accessory purchase. But, since the coming of my TV140 I've been using 11 and 4 pound counter weights - bit of a pain to carry two weights around for this "portable setup". The problem is, I couldn't locate any dealer that sold a 15 pound counter weight with hole diameter to fit my GP shaft (20mm). Typically the hole diameters for counter weight are greater than 25mm.

Anyway, I contacted Robin from Robin Casady's Astro Accessories. For a nominal charge, he customized a 15 pound stainless steel counter weight for the 20mm GP shaft.

Just received it in the mail last week. See photo. I'm pretty pleased with the product - it looks great on the GP-D2! Thanks again Robin.

Gord, Robin's stuff is the pineapple of stainless machining. I've got four of those counterweights and wouldn't part with them even if they didn't fit a mount I had.

Ditto. I had a couple of Robin's weights for my William Optics GT-1. Very nicely machined and packaged.
